Transit Round-Up

Supervisor Matt Haney is preparing to bring a proposed 1/8 cent sales tax to fund Caltrain operations to the Board next Tuesday, despite concerns over regressive taxation and Caltrain’s governance structure. This move renews hope for the beleaguered transit agency, who must secure a 2/3rds vote at the ballot box from residents in San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties. To date, only the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors has placed the measure.

Meanwhile, the SFMTA has settled two harassment lawsuits brought against former Chief John Haley in Friday’s transit roundup.
