Transportation funding on the brink: Caltrain and BART pleading for a lifeline

Few public services have been as financially battered by the Coronavirus as public transit agencies---the expense of new safety measures and the collapse in ridership revenues has brought agencies like Caltrain and BART on the brink of fiscal disaster. The SF BOS appears to have decided to reject a sales tax measure that Caltrains deemed vital to its ability to keep running, and BART expects to lose almost a billion dollars in three years.
