Supervisor Matt Haney now has the six votes on the Board of Supes needed to place a measure on the November ballot that would take street cleaning away from the Dept. of Public Works and create a new Dept. of Sanitation and Streets.

The Rules Committee voted to send the measure to the full board for a vote, after adding several amendments, including delaying associated costs for two years due to the recession and share some administrative duties with existing departments in the interim.
