Legislature Approves California Budget That Mostly Avoids Deep Cuts

The California Assembly approved a state budget on Friday which mostly avoids deep cuts. While cuts were made to programs like subsidized preschool and childcare, the state mainly relied on pulling from the rainy day funds, borrowing money, and hoping for federal aid by October. The budget was sent to Governor Newsom for approval.
