Bay Area struggles with reopening economy

Bay Area officials continue to grapple with how to open the economy while keeping employees and the public safe during the pandemic and avoid a surge in new infections, as business leaders, politicians and others push competing perspectives.

Supervisor Rafael Mandelman is working with Castro merchants on the potential partial closure of Castro Street between Market and 19th to traffic in an attempt to allow more restaurants to offer outside dining options.
