Shelter in Place, Pretty Please?

Government and law enforcement agencies are struggling with how strongly to enforce City and State mandated shelter in place restrictions and mandates that only essential businesses remain open.

To date, SFPD is one of several Bay Area Police Departments that is taking an “education over enforcement” approach, and San Francisco leaders are taking requests for businesses to stay open on a case by case basis- particularly those businesses willing and able to produce needed medical supplies.

So far, local officials are unwilling to close some outdoor streets, including JFK Drive in Golden Gate Park, where residents have begun to gather, despite pressure to do so.
