Disgraced Public Works Director Mohammed Nuru, who was arrested by the FBI for corruption, has resigned from his post. Mayor London Breed has appointed an Acting Director in the interim. However, Mohammed Nuru could still receive his pension, due to the fact that he has not yet been convicted of “a crime of ‘moral turpitude” as required in local pension reform Measure C.

On Tuesday, Supervisor Matt Haney will announce his intent to place a November measure on the ballot for voter consideration to restructure the Public Works Department and increase transparency and oversight.
