On Thursday, the Planning Commission approved a proposal to build a 61-story building - the fourth tallest in the City - Howard between 1st and 2nd streets. The development will include 165 condos, 189 hotel rooms and 325,000 square feet of Salesforce office space.

Sterling Bank won approval to relocate its Castro branch to a larger corner space on Market and Church, despite objections from neighbors who preferred a restaurant take over the space and City planners recommended denial based on the number of formula retail shops in the area.
