The City College of San Francisco announced the cancellation of most of the Older Adults program classes consisting of 64 non-credit classes like growing orchids, beginning drone piloting and water aerobics. The cancellation comes as the school looks to financially right the ship ahead of a review by state accreditors. The cuts are expected to save $1 million and impact 2,000 seniors, but are being decried by faculty and seniors.

While the cuts were a necessary reaction to an emergency lack of funding according to CCSF President Alex Randolph, Chancellor Rocha stated in a letter to Mayor Breed that the cuts were planned restructuring in advance of a new State funding formula.
