Supervisor-elect Dean Preston may have won his election by fewer than 200 votes but that won’t stop his ambitious plans for the city. Preston has said he plans to have a homeless navigation center in his district, something his predecessor Vallie Brown was unable to accomplish. He also wishes to create 10,000 more units of affordable housing over the next 10 years. If the $600 million housing bond isn’t enough to achieve his goals, Preston plans to pass another. In an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, he also proposes to make MUNI free by 2025.
