If You Build It, Will They Come?

Phil Matier looks at San Francisco’s efforts to encourage people to take alternate forms of transportation in order to alleviate traffic congestion which includes adding 100 new bike racks each month. Going with the “if you build it, they will come” mentality isn’t a sure bet - as of 2018 bicycle trips were only 4.2 percent of daily commuter trips.

Kamala Harris is polling at 8% in California, significantly trailing Democratic rivals Joe Biden (24%), Elizabeth Warren (23%) and Bernie Sanders (17%) and the state’s March primary is fast-approaching.
