U.S. District Judge William Alsup has ordered PG&E to answer several questions regarding both a malfunctioning transmission line near the Kinkade Fire’s origin point and about the blackouts PG&E imposed on millions of people in late October. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. However, PG&E has told state officials one of its transmission lines had an outage just before the fire started and state officials reported a broken jumper cable close to where the fires began.
