As votes are cast on who shall be San Francisco’s District Attorney, the contentious race draws to a close. Supervisors Hillary Ronen, Sandra Lee Fewer and Matt Haney have attacked the police officer’s association for spending as much as $650,000 on advertising attacking Public Defender Chesa Boudin. These ads have claimed he is favored by criminals. Meanwhile, Nancy Tung has claimed that interim District Attorney Suzy Loftus tried to talk her out of running for DA and asked that she run for judge instead. More than $2 million, including more than $800,000 from law enforcement groups, has been spent on this race.
