Michael Bloomberg, former New York City Mayor, current billionaire and public health activist, pledged to support an effort to defeat San Francisco’s Proposition C, a ballot initiative backed by local e-cigarette maker Juul. While Bloomberg didn’t specify how much money he’d offer, the announcement is part of a larger announced pledge of $160 million to combat youth vaping. The ballot measure seeks to roll back San Francisco’s restrictions on vaping and replace them with less restrictive rules.
