Supervisors Hillary Ronen and Matt Haney unveiled legislation on Tuesday calling for the Department of Public Health to fill all 55 beds at San Francisco General Hospital’s long-term care facility as soon as possible.

The Department has struggled to fill the beds due to staffing issues and a desire to use the beds for temporary respite rather than long term care, arguing that the current facility was unsafe due to staff negligence and errors.
