No charge in Officer involved shooting

District Attorney George Gascon’s office declined to press charges against two officers involved in shootings in 2017 and 2018 on Tuesday. The DA’s office has been criticized for not pressing charges against a single police officer involved in a shooting in San Francisco, and it is likely these decisions will spur more of that criticism. The DA defended the decisions by citing body-worn camera footage, security footage, and the use of firearms by those shot by officers, arguing that the officers involved were justified in their use of force in both incidents.
