Stevon Cook, the President of the San Francisco Unified School District Board of Education, announced that he'd be introducing a proposal at Tuesday's board meeting that would see the controversial Washington High mural simply covered, rather than painted over, thereby preserving the artwork.

Meanwhile, two candidates have thrown their hat into the ring for the School Board election this fall. They claim the unanimous vote from the Board which would see the mural painted over is the reason why.

Jenny Lam is the only member of the School Board who is up for election in November.
