E-cigarette company Juul is protesting the City’s Ballot Simplification Committee’s decision that says the company’s November 2019 ballot measure could overturn the voter-approved City law banning the sale of flavored nicotine pods.

Juul says this new ballot measure is meant to override the City’s recent ban on the sale of all e-cigarettes until the FDA has reviewed the products’ safety, and is asking the committee to delete the mention of the flavor ban or state that the measure will not repeal the ban. Opponents are asking the committee to make it clearer that the initiative would repeal the ban.
