At last night’s Police Commission meeting, homelessness advocates blasted City policies as cruel, ineffective and harmful to SF’s homeless population. The Coalition on Homelessness presented data outlining that since the Healthy Streets Operation Center, a coalition of City departments convened in January 2018 to improve coordination on critical services, homelessness has been further criminalized and individuals seeking services have been receiving inadequate care, at best.

In other news, the SFPD has stopped offering homeless individuals one-night shelter stays and will instead focus on funneling people into Navigation Centers.
