In California’s 2019-20 budget totaling $214.8 billion, an allocation of $17.5 million for the health needs of lesbian, bisexual, and queer women is a first in the nation. Service providers may now apply for funding under the program, and the money can go towards health care, mental health care, and other services including domestic violence programs and substance abuse referrals.
