MTA Might Not Have Reiskin’s Replacement By the Time He Leaves

The SFMTA Board, who met for the first time yesterday to plan their search for a new SFMTA Director, have said that  there may not be a replacement for current Director Ed Reiskin, who is in charge of Muni, bike lane planning, street design and parking enforcement officers, before he leaves in August.

The SFMTA is semi-independent and appoints their own Director, who will be faced with a myriad of issues with the MTA, including those that ousted Director Reiskin in the first place: last summer’s service meltdown, a reported culture of harassment, broken train doors on Muni’s new $1.1 billion future fleet, and more.
