Supervisor Vallie Brown’s legislation to keep affordable rents in place for elderly and disabled tenants facing displacement at the Fillmore Center, and extend rental protections to other current residents until 2025, passed committee yesterday and is heading to the full board for a vote next week.

The Fillmore Center’s affordable rent restrictions expired in December 2017 and this legislation seeks to prevent displacement for the Center’s more vulnerable residents, and give other residents more time to find new housing.
