Phil Matier reports that Mayor London Breed will effectively win re-election at 5:01pm on Tuesday’s filing deadline. Only a single perennial candidate has filed to run against her, and no serious candidates are expected to jump in.

In other news, Matier reports that Governor Newsom’s grace period may be coming to an end as his approval ratings flatten out. Also, Aaron Peskin has two reasons for why the Chinatown subway station should be named after Rose Pak - whether you think the Central Subway was a good idea or a boondoggle, either way, you should probably want to name it after her.
