San Francisco’s progressive leaders are by-and-large staying noticeably silent on the SFPD’s sledgehammer-raid of journalist Bryan Carmody’s house as part of their “internal” investigation into who leaked the report on Jeff Adachi’s death.

First Amendment advocates are slamming the SFPD for what they see as a violation of a free press, and no apparent regard for California’s very strong shield law that protects journalists from search warrants and allows them to withhold their sources.
