Oliver Barcenas, a 28-year-old man who was shot in the back while running from Officer Joshua Cabillo on June 9, 2018 after a raucous Warriors game, is suing the city, the police department, and Cabillo for “unreasonable seizure, use of excessive force, interference with California Constitutional rights, negligence, and negligent hiring” among other charges.  Officer Cabillo attempted to detain Barcenas and three others for publicly drinking in the early morning hours, and after Barcenas ran, Cabillo shot him.
