Treasure Island Residents Fight Displacement Amid Cleanup, Development

Treasure Island residents rallied Thursday for increased scrutiny over the toxic cleanup on the Island, currently underway by the same contractor alleged to have falsified records on the shipyard cleanup.  

Residents said they have long been subjected to backlash for speaking out about health problems they say could be caused by radioactive contamination, including losing their homes, and that they are concerned about displacement as 8,000 new housing units are set to begin construction next year.
