Tuesday, the San Francisco School Board unanimously voted to expand a shelter program using a school gym to include referrals from across the SF United School District. The program, which costs the district $37,000 a month, allows housing-insecure or homeless children and their families to sleep in the Buena Vista Horace Mann school gym. Prior to its expansion, the program served only a limited amount of families.
