The Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Authority will vote on Friday to approve the deal to keep the Raiders in Oakland for the 2019 season, with the option to extend through the 2020 season if need be.

Phil Matier says choosing Manohar “Mano” Raju to serve as public defender was “a solid political score” for Mayor London Breed, who now won’t have to worry about a progressive, like Matt Gonzalez who withdrew himself from consideration for the appointment, “stirring up the water” in the November election as Breed and her moderate D5 appointee Sup. Vallie Brown are on the ballot.
