At today’s meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee, Supervisors will begin official discussions over how to spend the “windfall” funds, reviewing two competing proposals - one from the Mayor who wants to focus spending on homeless services and one from a group of supervisors who want to see the funds spread between homelessness, housing, energy independence, and educators’ salaries.
As of Tuesday evening, it appeared that supervisors may have agreed to a tentative deal that would put the largest portion of the funds into affordable housing and homelessness and divvy up the remaining, but it remains a moving target.
