The Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, a SoMa-based nonprofit affordable housing provider, is pushing back against the City’s attempts to create the new SoMa West Community Benefit District that the TNDC says would cost them upwards of $30,000 in yearly fees on properties they own in the area.

The new CBD was approved by 56 percent of business and property owners who turned in ballots yesterday.  Supervisor Matt Haney who represents the area and is supportive of the new benefit district and has asked the Board to delay their vote on the new CBD until March 5th to give them time to find “a solution of how we can assess affordable housing appropriately.”
