Gov. Newsom Proposes More Funding for Education, Navigation Centers

Governor Gavin Newsom unveiled his $209 billion state budget Thursday - a 4 percent overall increase over the previous budget, with significantly increased funding for education and homeless navigation centers. The budget proposes $80.7 billion for K-12 education, funds for a second year of free community college for full-time students and expanding preschool programs, $750 million for more all-day kindergarten programs, and $500 million for cities to open new navigation centers.
