City College Board Meeting Will Discuss Ballot Measure for Funding

Today at 7:30am, the City College board will convene a last-minute meeting to discuss a ballot measure to fund the free City College program. The meeting is being held with the hopes that the trustees can have their opinions heard before the Board of Supervisors vote on the measure’s placement on the November ballot.
Several kinks with the program’s funding have been discovered over its two-year course of implementation, particularly the need for a ‘first dollar program’ from Prop W funding, which, if implemented, would not require the college to secure funding before City funding kicks in.
