Supes Unaimously Approve New Recycling Law

In an unanimous vote yesterday, the Board approved Supervisor Ahsha Safai’s legislation to require 400 of San Francisco’s largest trash-producers - including big businesses, restaurants, and even City Hall - be subject to an audit every three years to determine if they are complying with City recycling mandates, and if not, to hire trash sorters or face $1,000 fines for each day they remain out of compliance.
