Police presence in the Civic Center, U.N. Plaza areas is about to get a boost, according to SFPD Chief Bill Scott.  As of Wednesday night, there will be a mobile command unit parked in the U.N. Plaza. Scott said that there will be “a large presence of officers there for the foreseeable future.”

Foot, bicycle, and motor patrols have been increased in the Civic Center area, too.  The Tenderloin station has already made 637 arrests this year, and has added four beat officers to the area this week.
