Facebook’s updated policies to prevent the spread of hate speech through its platform have ruffled conservative feathers, after an ad from Elizabeth Heng, the Republican candidate for congress in the Central Valley, was removed for being deemed “shocking” and “sensational.

Conservative wingnut Alex Jones accused the company of censoring views with which the company disagrees.  The content that raised Facebook eyebrows was of the genocide in Cambodia that Heng’s parents lived through in the 1970s.  Facebook reinstated the ad five days after it was removed.
