At a tense and packed meeting, the BoS Land Use Committee voted to amend and pass to the Board a resolution expressing concerns about State Senator Scott Wiener's SB 827, which proposes to override local zoning controls and allow denser development on all land in CA municipalities within a certain proximity to public transit. The bill applies to nearly all of San Francisco.

Supervisor Aaron Peskin, sponsor of the original resolution in opposition, threatened at one point to sue the state if the bill passes in its current form, but accepted Supervisor Katy Tang's amendments to change the resolution's tone from "opposition" to "needs further amendment".
