San Francisco NAACP President Amos Brown is calling San Francisco Unified School District to the carpet, demanding the district address the achievement gap for African American students.
In 2017, a staggering 88% of African American public school students failed to test proficient in math.
The 12% proficiency rate is a decline from 2012 when 36% of African American students passed the proficiency test. Amos Brown is calling upon SFUSD to provide the services and resources needed to address this educational crisis and help these students succeed.
