Ballot Measure Seeks To Set Lifetime Term Limits on Mayor, Supes

Nick Josefowitz, candidate for District 2 Supervisor, is financing a ballot measure that would prevent anyone from serving as Supervisor or Mayor for more than two four-year terms.

Josefowitz, who has put $82,000 into getting the measure qualified for the June 2018 ballot, has everything to gain from lifetime term limits.  If voters approve the measure, Former D2 Supervisor Michaela Alioto-Pier would be barred from jumping into the D2 race next November.

Opponents to the measure include Supervisor Aaron Peskin, Former Supervisor Bevan Dufty, and Alioto-Pier, who claim this is a self-serving move on Josefowitz’s part that will prevent experienced politicians from stepping back into the ring.
