In effort to get the City's homeless veteran population down to functional zero (meaning the number of homeless approximately equals the number finding homes) by 2018, this month San Francisco will open a supportive housing complex with 70 units for homeless veterans. Supportive housing includes counseling onsite, and about 300 units of such housing have been created in the City over the past year.

The complex will be located in the refurbished Auburn Hotel, and is set to be managed by Delivering Innovations in Supportive Housing, a nonprofit. Counseling will be provided by Episcopal Community Services.
