San Francisco's official City flower, the Dahlia, is approaching full bloom in Golden Gate Park this summer. First planted in the 1920s, you can find the teardrop shaped Dahlia garden just east of the Conservatory of Flowers. The Dahlia has been the City's official flower since 1926. It was chosen for its "its versatility, its beauty, its infinite variety of color and form," much like the city it now calls home.
