AIDS Healthcare Foundation
The Bay Area Reporter and the Chronicle reveal that LA based nonprofit, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), filled a lawsuit at the end of last week in the U.S. District Court for Northern California against Supervisor Scott Wiener, the city, and the Board of Supervisors. AHF claims Supervisor Wiener unfairly targeted the group while they sought to open a new pharmacy in the Castro. (They fall under our city’s formula retail rules and need to get approval from the Planning Commission because they operate 28 pharmacies). Supervisor Wiener and City Attorney Dennis Herrera dispute AHF’s claims.
